서울대총학생회 촛불집회! 지지받지 못하는 이유

서울대총학생회 촛불집회! 여론에게 질타받는 이유~ 아마도 이들의 부모세대는 민주화를 위해 애써왔거나 적어도 학내자율화 또는 등록금투쟁을 경험한 노동자, 농민을 위해 적어도 대자보를 읽어봤거나 아니면 민족자주에 대해 고민을 해본 세대가 아닐까싶다. 사실 상 대한민국에서 1997년 쯤을 기점으로 우리가 흔히 경험해오던 "최루탄" 과 "화염병"을  눈으로 보거나 경험해본 대학생이 거의 없을 것이다.  독재정권을 타도하고 이룩한 민주화!  이미 갖고 태어난 지금의 서울대생 그리고 대학생들에게 더 이상의 민주화는 아무런 의미가 없을 것이다.  사실 대학교와 대학생이 많이 변했다는 것에 동감한다. 어느 학교나 마찬가지이다. 취업을 준비시키는 취업학원이며 동시에 취업을 위해 학원을 다니는 취준생의 집단. 이들에게 중요한 것은 좋은 직장을 가는 것이 꿈이 아닐까?  그렇게 2000년 대 이후 달라진 대학생활은 총학생회 또한 변질시키고 있다.  밥먹고 살기 힘든 마당에 어떤 대의를 위해 투쟁에 나설 것인가?? 총학생회는 그저 중고등학교 시절 자기 커리어를 위해 학부모 치맛바람에 의해  만들어진 또 하나의 "명예직"이 아닌가? 싶을 정도로 그 위상이 쪼그라들었다.  과거에는 서울대총학생회장 정도면 모르는 사람이 없을 정도였다. 뉴스에도 종종 등장했고 또  수배령이 떨어지면 당연히 이름에 오를 정도이니 연대, 고대, 서울대의 총학생회장은 콩밥정도는 먹어줘야 일을 제대로 했다싶을 정도였다.  지금 서울대총학생회의 행보는  사실 하나의 정치권 진입을 노리는 "공천"을 위한 또는 "취직"을 위한 하나의 몸부림으로 밖에는 비쳐지지 않는다. 그들이 말하는 "조국교수"에 대한 의혹! 누구보다 먼저 알 수밖에 없는 사람들이 조국의 제자들인 서울대생일 것이고 또한 그들이 공평하지 못하다
